Best of 2021: Best New Event
After being delayed a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a new fall tradition debuted in October.
The inaugural Maryland 5 Star brought Olympic athletes to Cecil County’s Fair Hill for the eventing showcase (known as an “equestrian triathlon”), one of only seven five-star events in the world.
Olympian Boyd Martin claimed the first title in the event’s history, and the expectation is that the event will grow to be even bigger in the coming years.
